Eat. Save. Reduce your foodprint<\/a>,\u00a0en kampanj mot det enorma matsvinnet i v\u00e4rlden.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.svd.se\/nyheter\/utrikes\/fn-vill-stoppa-matsvinnet_7850050.svd\" target=\"_blank\">Svenska Dagbladet skrev om den <\/a>och l\u00e4t bland annat FAO:s bitr\u00e4dande generaldirekt\u00f6r Ann Tutweiler komma till tals:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2013\u2009<\/strong>All mat som sl\u00f6sas bort i industril\u00e4nderna uppg\u00e5r till mer \u00e4n den totala livsmedelsproduktionen i Afrika. Det \u00e4r enorma m\u00e4ngder mat. I industril\u00e4nderna \u00e4r h\u00e4lften av den bortkastade maten dessutom fullt \u00e4tbar men ratas \u00e4nd\u00e5 av konsumenter och producenter.<\/p>\n<p>Och s\u00e5h\u00e4r skriver Svenska Dagbladet om sj\u00e4lva kampanjen:<\/p>\n<p><em>FN:s milj\u00f6organ och FAO k\u00f6r nu i g\u00e5ng en v\u00e4rldsomfattande kampanj f\u00f6r att hejda detta enorma matsvinn. Tisdagen var startpunkten f\u00f6r en internationell satsning med informationskampanjer till konsumenter, producenter, stormarknader, restauranger, hotell, skolor, sportklubbar, f\u00f6retag och regeringar runtom i v\u00e4rlden om matsl\u00f6seriet. Ambitionen \u00e4r att skapa ett slags massmobilisering som kan \u00f6ka medvetandet och g\u00f6ra att m\u00e4nniskor sl\u00e4nger mindre mat. Kampanjen g\u00e5r under namnet \u201dThink. Eat. Save.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Jag fick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tristramstuart.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tristram Stuarts <\/a>pressmeddelande om Think. Eat. Save. och blev s\u00e5 glad \u00f6ver att det inte enbart var en massa uttalanden fr\u00e5n folk med titlar (i sig nog s\u00e5 viktigt) utan ocks\u00e5 en rad enkla r\u00e5d till oss allihop. H\u00e4r kommer de:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Consumers<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Shop Smart: Plan meals, use shopping lists, avoid impulse buys and don\u2019t succumb to marketing tricks that lead you to buy more food than you need.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Buy Funny Fruit: Many fruits and vegetables are thrown out because their size, shape, or colour are deemed not \u201cright\u201d. Buying these perfectly good fruit, at the farmer\u2019s market or elsewhere, utilizes food that might otherwise go to waste.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Understand Expiry Dates: \u201cBest-before\u201d dates are generally manufacturer suggestions for peak quality. Most foods can be safely consumed well after these dates. The important date is \u201cuse by\u201d \u2013 eat food by that date or check if you can freeze it.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Zero Down Your Fridge: Websites such as WRAP\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lovefoodhatewaste.com\">www.lovefoodhatewaste.com<\/a> can help consumers get creative with recipes to use up anything that might go bad soon.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Other actions include: freezing food; following storage guidance to keep food at its best, requesting smaller portions at restaurants; eating leftovers \u2013 whether home-cooked, from restaurants or\u00a0<\/em><em>takeaway; composting food; and donating spare food to local food banks, soup kitchens, pantries, and shelters.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Retailers and the Hospitality Industry <\/strong><\/em>(detta \u00e4r allts\u00e5 saker som man kan fr\u00e5ga om i mataff\u00e4ren och p\u00e5 restaurangen om man k\u00e4nner sig lite modig, och annars skriva p\u00e5 en lapp och l\u00e4gga i den d\u00e4r tipsl\u00e5dan som de brukar ha)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Retailers can carry out waste audits and product loss analysis for high-waste areas, work with their suppliers to reduce waste, offer discounts for near-expiration items, redesign product displays with less excess, standardize labelling and increase food donations, among other actions.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Restaurants, pubs and hotels can limit menu choices and introduce flexible portioning, carry out waste audits and create staff engagement programmes, among many other measures.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, companies, cities and countries will be able to use the website to pledge to measure the food they waste and put in place targets to reduce it.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thinkeatsave.org\/index.php\/take-action\/find-out-how\" target=\"_blank\">H\u00e4r <\/a>finns kampanjens lite mer utf\u00f6rliga tipslista.<\/p>\n<p>Jaha, men d\u00e5 \u00e4r det bara att s\u00e4tta ig\u00e5ng, eller hur?
