Det l\u00e5ter ju inte klokt, men de \u00e4r otroligt g\u00e4stfria, och de saker som jag arbetade med under den perioden var s\u00e5dana som jag kunde sk\u00f6ta varsomhelst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jag hade funderat mycket p\u00e5 vad jag kunde ta med mig som presenter till dem &#8212; inte s\u00e5 l\u00e4tt! Till slut k\u00f6pte jag ovanliga kn\u00e4ckebr\u00f6d av olika slag. De sa inget s\u00e4rskilt om dem, men s\u00e5 \u00e5kte jag och h\u00e4lsade p\u00e5 en v\u00e4ninna p\u00e5 en annan plats i England i ett par dagar, och n\u00e4r jag kom tillbaka fick jag veta att allt kn\u00e4ckebr\u00f6d var slut och att det var S\u00c5 gott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det var d\u00e5 jag erbj\u00f6d mig att baka fr\u00f6kn\u00e4ckebr\u00f6d \u00e5t dem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stor skepsis f\u00f6rst, och sedan n\u00e4stan overkligt mycket gl\u00e4dje. Vi utvecklade snabbt flera nya recept som byggde p\u00e5 det f\u00f6rsta, och jag letade i olika butiker efter fler fr\u00f6sorter att anv\u00e4nda. Ett par k\u00e4nde jag inte igen hemifr\u00e5n, en del som jag tyckte var sj\u00e4lvklara (oskalade sesamfr\u00f6n till exempel) hittade jag inte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dagen innan jag \u00e5kte gick jag till en av de stora matbutikerna och k\u00f6pte fr\u00f6p\u00e5sar (allts\u00e5 stora p\u00e5sar med solrosfr\u00f6 och pumpafr\u00f6 och sesamfr\u00f6 och vallmofr\u00f6) och lite st\u00e4rkelse (vi gjorde de flesta satserna med majsst\u00e4rkelse, men vi experimenterade ocks\u00e5 med andra mj\u00f6lsorter) och fyllde en plastback med dem som hejd\u00e5present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Efter det bakade de fr\u00f6kn\u00e4ckebr\u00f6d minst ett par g\u00e5nger i veckan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I vintras ber\u00e4ttade de att de hade slutat &#8212; elr\u00e4kningarna!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men nu har de b\u00f6rjat igen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tre pl\u00e5tar f\u00e5r plats i ugnen samtidigt. Tills\u00e4tt oljan och r\u00f6r om. Koka upp vattnet, tills\u00e4tt det ocks\u00e5 och r\u00f6r ihop till en ganska kompakt deg. Tryck ut den tunt och j\u00e4mnt&nbsp;p\u00e5 ett bakpl\u00e5tspapper p\u00e5 en pl\u00e5t och str\u00f6 \u00f6ver flingsalt (Marita och jag tycker att det \u00e4r gott med mycket flingsalt, men man kan prova sig fram). Sk\u00e4r med kniv eller sporre i lagom stora bitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gr\u00e4dda knexen i 150 graders ugnsv\u00e4rme i ungef\u00e4r en timme och tio minuter eller tills de k\u00e4nns h\u00e5rda och \u00e4r l\u00e4tta att bryta is\u00e4r i sk\u00e5rorna. L\u00e5t dem svalna och f\u00f6rvara dem luftt\u00e4tt.
